Kieti Advocates attended the launch of the UN environment report, “Legal Readiness for Climate Finance: Private Sector Opportunities”, hosted by United Nations Environment Programme together with Standard Chartered Bank. The event included a stakeholder dialogue on the role of law in driving climate finance and the threats and opportunities presented by climate change on the banking and finance sector.
In attendance were representatives from the Capital Markets Authority, Retirement Benefits Authority, The National Treasury, and leading banks and law firms.
The report which was launched stems from a round table organized in London by the United Nations Environment Programme, in partnership with Kings’ College and University of London to exchange views on regulatory measures that will catalyze flows of capital into climate action.
